This word is polonized version of the Latin expression “silva rerum”, which means “forest of things”. In Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth “sylwas” were types of personal journal, in which noblemen included everything they found interesting: memoirs, news from the world, illustrations, gossip, documents, letters, and much more.
On SYLWA you will find captivating trivia related to the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. We will travel in time not only to experience long lost world of a non-existent kingdom but also to see what is left of it in our present time.
